In his remarks, the Ambassador stated that ever since the Indian forces landed in Srinagar to occupy Jammu and Kashmir more than 7 decades ago, the repressed, oppressed and brutalized residents of the beautiful Valley are looking towards the international community for justice and their freedom. Residents of Jammu and Kashmir are still waiting for the international community to fulfill its promises that they made through UN Security Council’s multiple resolutions, demanding a free and impartial plebiscite for Kashmiris to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination. Surviving under the continued clampdown, the Kashmiris are demanding freedom from the occupied security forces while urging the international community to wake up to their call against the inhuman treatment meted out to them. The Ambassador also highlighted historical importance of the 27th October; expressed complete solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir; condemned the continued brutal use of force by the Indian Occupation Forces and New Delhi’s illegal steps taken on and since 5 August including imposition of strict curfew and complete lockdown of the Valley.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, moral and political support to the just struggle of the people of Kashmir.

The videos depicting Indian atrocities and brutal acts of the Indian occupying forces were also shown.

The 27th of October is observed the world over as ‘Black Day’ as 74 years ago, on this day, India without any legal justification, forcibly took control of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, the Indian Occupied Forces are mercilessly killing unarmed and innocent and Kashmiris, vandalising their properties and indulging in other inhuman acts. At the end its and humble request to the UN Security Council do fulfill their premises that they made and give Innocent Kashmiris freedom.
