Lima Peru Airport Plane Hit A Firefighter truck And Crashes During Take-off
A plane crashed into a fire truck while taking off at Peru's busiest airport and Two firefighters have died.
The Airline said on Twitter, No flight crew or passengers were killed during this incident.
It was announced by Peru's Health Ministry that there are twenty passengers in the plane crash are being treated for injuries - 2 of them are believed to be in a critical condition.
until now its not clear that why the fire truck entered the runway while the plane was taking off on the runway, bound for the southern Peruvian city of Juliaca.
It was said by Latam CEO Manuel Van Ordt during a news conference, that the flight had been cleared for take-off.
"And he also said that We even don't know why that [fire truck] was there on Runway. "We didn't ask for any kind of services from them."
Lima Airport Partners (LAP) - which operates and controls the Jorge Chávez Airport - has suspended new flights until Saturday afternoon at Jorge Chávez airport.
In a statement LAP it was also added that: "At this sad moment we are trying to figure out and investigating all the crucial factors that could determine the reason of this."
He wrote on twitter that "I express my heartfelt condolences to the relatives friends and family of Nicolás Santa Gadea and Ángel Torres, brave firefighters who died in the accident".
"My thoughts and my all prayers are for them. And I pray for the recovery of the wounded people."
