A court of Romania has ordered the release from house arrest of the self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate, who is awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking.

The Romanian court has placed Andrew, a social media personality known for expressing misogynistic views, under judicial control, a less restrictive measure.

It was said by Bucharest court of appeals in a written ruling that it “replaces the house arrest measure with that of judicial control for a period of sixty days from August 4 until October 2”.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, both of whom have dual British and US citizenship, were charged in the month of June 2023 along with 2 Romanian female suspects of human trafficking, rape and forming and leading a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. The suspects have denied the allegations.

Under the latest measure, the Four suspects can leave the house for going outside, but they can not Bucharest and the surrounding Ilfov county. They must check in regularly with the local city police. And not only this they are banned too from trying to approach the alleged victims.

Tate, 36, Speaking outside his home in Bucharest on Friday, August 4 told the news reporters that he and his brother had done nothing wrong with anyone. And they are completely innocent. Exact words are here 👇

“[We’ve] been completely innocent since the beginning of this and I have to give absolute faith to the Romanian judicial system for finally making the right decision in letting us free,” he said while giving a speech to the reporters.

“I’m sure in the end we will be absolutely exonerated and everybody who was pushing these lies and reporting things on repeat without any substantial evidence are going to have to analyse within themselves why they decide to try and destroy people’s lives purely for views.”

Tate Brothers thanked their supporters in a statement Through their lawyer, for showing “great resilience and patience”.

Romania’s anti-organised crime agency alleged the 4 defendants had formed a criminal group in 2021 “in order to commit the crime of human trafficking” in Romania as well as the US and Britain.

The agency alleged there are 7 female victims had been deceived and transported to Romania, including some who were “misled” by “false claims of love and marriage”. The alleged victims (women) were taken to the buildings in Ilfov county where prosecutors said they were sexually exploited and subjected to physical violence by the gang. One defendant is accused of raping a woman twice in March 2022, according to the reports.

Andrew Tate, who has lived in the country of Romania since 2017, and his brother have denied all of the allegations, with a trial due to take place.

Andrew Tate and his brother both launched a lawsuit against a Florida woman in July 2023, saying she falsely accused them of imprisoning her in the country of Romania, leading to their arrest there on human trafficking charges.

The brothers are seeking at least (£3.9m) or ($5m) in the lawsuit, which was filed in Palm Beach county against the woman who accused them, women her parents, another woman who lived at the Tates’ Bucharest estate and her male friend.

In the UK, 4 British women have joined a civil claim for damages against Andrew Tate, alleging they were victims of sexual and physical assault by him. The women have said they intend to commence proceedings against him.
