 In the US state of Virginia, A gunman has opened fire and killed up to ten people in a Walmart supermarket in Chesapeake, police say.

A man believed to be the store manager started firing and then turned the gun on himself, and now he is dead too.

The City of Chesapeake tweeted on Twitter that "police verify an active gun shooter incident with fatalities at the Walmart".

There are few details about the incident until now, but an officer of police spoke of no more than ten people killed in this shooting and multiple injured. No motive has emerged yet.

It was said by the Virginia state Senator Louise Lucas that she was "absolutely heartbroken" at what she described as "America's latest mass shooting".

She tweeted that: "I will not rest until we get the solutions about how to end this gun violence epidemic in our country".
