The re-recording of the national anthem started in August 2017 during the previous regime of Pakistan Muslim League (N). Ms. Maryam Aurangzeb, after taking over the portfolio of the Ministry of Information in April 2022, started the work of completing this project quickly. A steering committee was formed under the chairmanship of Senator (R) Javed Jabbar, under which audio, visual sub-committees were formed.

This national effort was completed with the involvement of various institutions, departments and a large number of people, including the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Brass Bands (Sazina) of all three armed forces were also involved in this national effort, in collaboration with the Department of Armed Forces Public Relations (ISPR). 155 singers, 48 ​​musicians and 6 band masters participated in it.
